Requirements for students
What are the minimum age requirements?
The minimum age to study at a vocational training institution is at least 14 years old on admission.
What EQF levels are available?
Students can choose between programmes at EQF Levels II, III, and IV.
When will admissions to formal vocational training programmes open?
Competitive score
The competitive score is the arithmetic mean of the grades in all subjects recorded in the document certifying learning achievements, which are converted into the Lithuanian grading scale.
How is the competition list defined?
The competition list for admissions to state-funded studies in vocational education and training is drawn up in a descending order of the students’ competitive scores.

If you have a temporary/permanent residence permit in Lithuania or another EU country, you need to upload it in the system under IDENTIFICATION.
I do not have a temporary / permanent residence permit in Lithuania or another EU country
You can apply for vocational training even if you do not have a residence permit in Lithuania. Within 6 months of signing the contract, you will have to present your residence permit to the vocational training institution.

I have completed secondary education:
- – If you have acquired secondary school education outside Lithuania and / or completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, please contact the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (hereinafter referred to as the SKVC) for recognition of international education and/or assessment of subject equivalence and grade conversion. - – take a test (if required by your chosen training programme);
- – upload copies of documents to the Centralised Admissions Portal by the deadline;
- – check the status of your application under PREFERENCES / SUMMARY.
I have completed lower (basic) secondary education:
- – create an application in LAMA BPO Centralised Admissions Portal;
- – along with your education documents, submit a completed and signed application through the LAMA BPO system under DATA ON GENERAL EDUCATION and your application and documents will be sent by LAMA BPO staff to the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education.
- – take a test (if required by your chosen training programme);
- – check the status of your application under PREFERENCES / SUMMARY.
What documents do I have to submit in the LAMA BPO Joint Admissions Information System?
- – certificate of recognition of qualifications issued by the Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education;
- – copies of proofs of your secondary education. No translation is required for documents issued in English or Russian. Documents issued in other languages should be accompanied by an official translation into Lithuanian or English.
I have changed my name, what documents do I need to submit?
You must provide a document proving the change of name.
How can I check that my application has been registered?
Once you have registered in the vocational training subsystem of the Centralised Admissions Portal and filled in your details, you can see the status of your application under PREFERENCES / SUMMARY.
What shall I do if I have lost my education documents?
If you have lost or otherwise misplaced the documents of your learning achievements, you must provide a duplicate.
What is the number of preferences I can list in my application?
Main and Additional Admissions: you can list up to three preferences.
Entrance tests
I have to take an entrance test. Do I have to wait for a special invitation once I’ve chosen the test location and time, or do I have to show up for the test on the specified day?
You have to choose the place and time of the admission test in the Centralised Admissions Portal and to appear for the test on the appointed day without any separate invitation.
Do I have to take the entrance test at the vocational training institution whose programme I have put on my preference list?
You can choose to take the test at any of the vocational training institutions offering the respective programme. You should choose the place and time of the admission test in the Centralised Admissions Portal.
I have added two identical programmes to my list of preferences, which are run by different vocational training institutions. Will I have to take the test at both vocational training institutions I have chosen?
When your eligibility for a programme is determined based on the results of the test, the eligibility is recognised by all the vocational training institutions running the respective programme. The results of your eligibility are published on the Centralised Admissions Portal.
Getting offers
How do I get an offer?
When a vocational training institution makes an offer, you’ll receive a notification email to the address you have provided in the Centralised Admissions Portal and you can log in to Portal and view the offer. Once you receive an offer to study, you conclude a contract no later than the date set in the Centralised Admissions deadlines.
How many offers can I get?
In each admissions round you can receive only one offer to study.
When should I conclude the contract with the vocational training institution?
After you receive an offer to study, you can sign the contract during the specified period, for dates see: Key dates and deadlines.
What documents do I have to submit to the vocational training institution when I sign the contract?
- – Identity document (passport or identity card);
- – Medical certificate(s);
- – proof of education;
- – in the event of a change of your name, provide a proof of the change of your first/last name.
I am a minor, what medical certificates do I have to present?
If you are under 18, you must provide a Child’s Health Certificate (Form 027-1/a) and a Medical Certificate for Minors Applying for Education and Employment (Form 086/a).
If there is a requirement in the information system, you must provide a medical certificate stating that you are in good health for the chosen programme.
I am of legal age, what medical certificates do I have to present?

Can another person enter into a contract with a vocational training institution on my behalf?
A contract with the vocational training institution can be concluded by a person authorised by you. The authorisation has to be certified by a notary.
